Welcome to the website of our Church family! We are truly a Christian family that celebrates everyone’s own God-given individuality. We are never judgemental, we are affirming, and above all we are totally inclusive. We are small but growing in numbers, our faithful few coming from Anglican, Baptist, Methodist and RC backgrounds along with an extended web congregation/family, encompassing all of the UK and Worldwide, enabling us to be a truly ecumenical and all-embracing church (Multi-denominational, diverse, and promoting Christian unity around the world). On the first Sunday evening of each month, our worship takes the form of a traditional Eucharist/Mass – similar to that seen in many mainstream churches. On the Third Sunday of each month, the service is a Celtic Eucharist - more meditative and less formal. We are traditional with a twist. We are very relaxed and very welcoming. We firmly believe that Church membership should be a pleasure rather than a duty, and so we usually finish with after-service drinks of wine, tea, coffee and nibbles. Please click on ‘Church Services’ for details, and feel free to join us – you will be made very welcome.
Led by Fr Paul and Fr Brizz Miles-Knight, and Fr Tom Armstrong, our aim is to bring the Christian Message to everyone just as Jesus does – without any conditions, without imposing ridiculous man-made restrictions, and without the stuffiness that, even in this day and age, hinders our ability to be ‘ourselves’ in Christ’s Name.
We are chaplains of the Old Vic Public house in Southsea, and the Hovercraft Museum at Lee on the Solent. Fr Paul is the Vicar-General of the ECCUK, and is also Chaplain to the Southern Area Branch of the National Malaya and Borneo Veterans Association and the Royal British Legion Riders Branch; more recently Fr Paul and Fr Brizz are Chaplains of the Type 42 Association, Fr Brizz is secretary/treasurer to the Italy Star Association (East Hants) and secretary of the Royal British Legion Portsmouth South Branch. Fr Tom is Chaplain to Bridgemary School in Gosport.
We recognise and affirm with joy that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is for all, without any exception, and we strive to answer the call of our risen Lord to carry his message of unconditional love to everyone.
We are a contemporary body of Christ's faithful. We are a member church of The One Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. While our orders originally derive from The Roman Church, in our services we use the rites of most mainstream Churches depending on need. The Ecumenical Christian Church Parishes and Ministries within the United Kingdom together form a member body of the worldwide United Ecumenical Catholic Church, a contemporary church of catholic – totally universal - tradition.
We hold public services on the first and third Sunday of every month by kind permission at the John Pounds Memorial Unitarian Church, High Street, Old Portsmouth.
There are also special services throughout the year so keep a look out on the services page.
We hold an annual service for World AIDS Day and on occasions the civic Holocaust Memorial day service.
